US Government: Van Hadley
I am a 39-year veteran of the classroom. I began as a teacher intern with full teaching responsibilities in 1976 at Roy High School in Roy, Utah. I Graduated in 1977 from Weber State University with a BA in History and then received a Masters of Education Degree in 1987 from the same University. I have taught, like most social studies teachers, a number of different courses ranging from U.S. History to World History, Economics, and U.S. Government /Law. I have taught AP Government and Politics and AP United States History both of which I have done for over 25 years. I have been at the reading for the College Board for the past 15 readings both as a reader and a table leader and I have been a consultant for the College Board for 12 years. I am an adjunct instructor for Weber State University in their History Department teaching new teacher candidates how to teach social studies. I have also been an instructor for UCLA in their online APSI program. I am currently a student teacher supervisor for both Weber State University and Brigham Young University Idaho. I love teaching; it has been a huge part of my life. I am a father of five wonderful children and fourteen grandchildren. I live in West Point, Utah, which is a small community about 30 miles north of Salt Lake City.
