Barbara is a National Board Certified mathematics teacher now living in North Fork, Idaho.
She spent her last 25 years teaching high school mathematics at Roswell High School in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.
She taught everything from middle school mathematics to AP Computer Science and AP Calculus AB and BC. With a
commitment to improve mathematics education, Barbara presented workshops for teachers in her district, at Kennesaw
State College for pre-service math teachers, and at state and regional mathematics conferences.
During her career with the Fulton County Schools, Barbara participated on committees to revise the district's mathematics curriculum,
choose textbooks, improve assessment, and develop district-wide end of course examinations. She also helped design and teach a staff
development course to accredit more middle school teachers to teach Algebra I.
Barbara's goals have always included making Advanced Placement mathematics available to all students. As a teacher and department
chair at Roswell High School, she helped build the AP math program from 2 classes in Calculus in 1997 to a total of 12 classes in 2004,
which included AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, and AP Computer Science. To help achieve this goal, Barbara worked hard
to develop a successful vertical team with her high school and its two feeder middle schools.
Barbara is a National Leader Consultant with The College Board. As an endorsed consultant in the Southern Region, she presented topics
for middle school and high school teachers at Teaching and Learning Conferences and presented summer institutes as well as one-day
workshops for Pre-AP Vertical Teams in Mathematics. Now in the Western Region, Barbara stays busy with the College Board as both a
presenter for Pre-AP mathematics and a consultant mentor.
