Biology - New: Allison Kittay
Allison Kittay earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from U. C. Berkeley. After three years conducting research in a plant pathology laboratory, she returned to U.C. Berkeley to get a teaching credential in science. Over the last twenty-three years, she has taught many different science courses from grades 6 through 12 in a variety of settings. She taught AP Biology for 12 years at El Cerrito High School in El Cerrito, California. She has also taught AP Biology during the summer for U.C. Berkeley's Academic Talent Development Program. She has been a reader for the AP Biology Examination for the past twelve years, and conducts both one-day AP workshops and AP Summer Institutes in Biology and Pre AP Science for the College Board. Allison is also a reader for the Praxis Exam in Biology and General Science, and works mentoring beginning teachers. She was an Access Excellence Fellow, Ed Fund Teacher of the Year, TeachEach Finalist, and ASMCB teacher-researcher at UC Berkeley. Allison is currently teaching at Redwood High School in Larkspur, California. This will be Allison's fifth summer with the Silver State APSI.
