Cheryl L. Williams academic qualifications include a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential,
a Professional Clear Single Subject Credential in Mathematics, and a Bachelors Degree in Pure Mathematics. She has
worked in the Elk Grove Unified School District since 1999. She has been working as a Vice Principal at Monterey Trail
High School since July 2007. Previously, she worked at Valley High School.
As a vice principal, she supervises and evaluates the World Language Department, the Health Department, the Science
Department, Activities Director, and 11 classified staff. She is also the administrator over the following school-wide
programs: WASC, Student Activities, Link Crew, African American Focus Group, Latino Parent Focus Group, GATE, Advanced
Placement, Student Senate, Advocacy, Trainer of Trainers, and STAR Reward Program. Her major tasks include: Senior
Awards Night, Academic Awards Night, Back to School Nights, Senior Parent Information Night, and Mustang Roundup. In
addition, she serves as administrator on the Communications/Public Relations Committee and is responsible for the CST and
AP administration.
As a mathematics teacher at Valley High School, she taught the following classes: AP Calculus AB, PreCalculus,
Trigonometry, Algebra 2, Algebra 1, CAHSEE, Math Lab, Algebra 1A Strategic, Algebra 1B summer program, and Algebra 2
summer program. She served as the Mathematics Department Chair for two years. She also worked as a Teacher-in-Charge
and Independent Study Program Coordinator.
She has been a consultant for the College Board since 2003 and serves on their Equity and Access Committee. She has
served as her district's Regional Vertical Teams Coordinator and on the Superintendent's Certificated Advisory Committee.
She has also worked on her school's Professional Learning Committee.
