Biographies

Allison Kittay earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from U. C. Berkeley. After college she worked in a Plant Pathology research laboratory for several years. It was during this time that she began tutoring local elementary school students. She returned to U.C. Berkeley to get a teaching credential in science. She has taught many different science courses from grades 6 through 12 in a variety of settings. She taught AP Biology for 12 years at El Cerrito High School in El Cerrito, California. She has also taught AP Biology during the summer for U.C. Berkeley's Academic Talent Development Program. She has been a reader for the AP Biology Examination for the past ten years, and conducts one-day AP Biology workshops for the College Board as well as presenting week-long workshops during the summer. This will be Allison's third year with the SSAPSI. Allison is currently teaching at Redwood High School in Larkspur, California.
